Another book on prayer?!

Why did I write Prayer PathWay when there are already so many great books on prayer?

Like many Christians, I've struggled to  have a consistent, disciplined prayer life. I developed Prayer PathWay for myself - to give structure to my prayer life - to help me pray when I didn't feel like praying - to guide me in prayer whether I had just a couple minutes in the midst of a busy day or a whole weekend set apart as a prayer retreat - and to help me to pray the Bible.  When I shared my approach to prayer with others, there was a lot of interest. I suggested: "Get a notebook and start collecting verses and quotes that will help you pray! Set up weekly and daily prayer lists. Find daily prayer themes - they're all in the Bible!" but people suggested that I should publish it so they could use it right away. And it should be organized and easy to use. And it should be pretty!

Prayer PathWay is the fruit of decades of my own prayer journey. It is a resource to go alongside the other prayer books that you already use and treasure. It contains forms and resources to help you customize a prayer notebook that is just right for you. But, mainly, it is a tool to help you see your Bible as your main prayer book.

I pray - right this moment - that God will meet you as you sojourn in prayer. That He will steady your steps and guide your way.

God is already there. Ready and waiting for you.

"My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.

I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words.”

~ Psalm 17:5-6 (ESV)
